Compliance checks
inside your coding agent.
Connect your agent to the RuleFix MCP server and it can check code against DPDP, GDPR, SOC 2 and more while it writes, fix what it finds, and prove the fix with a re-scan.

Connect your agent.
A remote server: no package to install, nothing running on your machine. You need a RuleFix account and an API key.
- Step 1
Create an API key
In the dashboard, open Settings → API keys. The key is shown once; RuleFix keeps only a hash.
- Step 2
Add the server
Paste the config for your client below and replace the placeholder key with yours.
- Step 3
Ask your agent
Try “Scan the files I changed with RuleFix”. The agent discovers the ten tools on its own.
claude mcp add --transport http rulefix https://rulefix.in/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer rf_live_your_api_key"- Claude Code: Add --scope project to share it with your team via .mcp.json (keep the key in an env var).
- VS Code: VS Code prompts for the key once and stores it securely.
Ten tools, one endpoint.
Checks work on the code your agent sends. Workspace tools read and update your RuleFix projects.
Checks · don't touch your workspace
- Scan filesRead-only
rulefix_scan_filesCheck file contents against DPDP, GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS and more. Returns findings with exact lines and fixes. - Check a snippetRead-only
rulefix_check_snippetCheck code before writing it to a file, so the agent never introduces a violation. - Suggest a fixRead-only
rulefix_suggest_fixGet a compliant rewrite for a finding: AI-generated when enabled, otherwise the rule's reference fix. - Verify a fixRead-only
rulefix_verify_fixRe-scan the edited file and confirm the finding is gone and nothing new was introduced. - Explain a ruleRead-only
rulefix_explain_ruleWhat a rule checks, why the regulation cares, and how to comply. - List rulesRead-only
rulefix_list_rulesThe rule catalogue, filtered by framework.
Workspace · your projects and issues
- List projectsRead-only
rulefix_list_projectsProjects in your RuleFix workspace, with their frameworks and latest score. - Get open issuesRead-only
rulefix_get_issuesOpen findings from your dashboard (repository and website scans, earlier reports) so the agent can fix them in your codebase. - Report a scanWrites to workspace
rulefix_report_scanScan files and record the results in a project, so your team and auditors see them in the dashboard. - Resolve an issueWrites to workspace
rulefix_resolve_issueMark an issue fixed — only after RuleFix re-scans the submitted file and confirms the finding is gone.
Check, fix, verify, record.
The loop RuleFix tells your agent to follow. Fixes are proven by a re-scan, not taken on trust.
While your agent writes code
Catch issues before they reach a commit.
- 1
rulefix_check_snippetCheck the code before writing it to a file. - 2
rulefix_scan_filesScan the files that changed. Findings come back with exact lines. - 3
rulefix_suggest_fixGet a compliant rewrite for each finding. - 4
rulefix_verify_fixRe-scan the edited file: the finding is gone and nothing new appeared. - 5
rulefix_report_scanRecord the result in a project, so your team sees it in the dashboard.
Fixing issues from the dashboard
Close findings from GitHub scans and CI with evidence.
- 1
rulefix_get_issuesPull open issues found by GitHub scans or CI. - 2The agent edits the code in your repository.
- 3
rulefix_resolve_issueSubmit the edited file. RuleFix re-scans it and marks the issue fixed only if the finding is gone.

What happens to your code.
Plainly: what RuleFix processes, what it keeps, and when.
Processed in memory
File contents your agent sends are scanned in memory to produce findings. Checking code doesn't save it.
Stored only when reported
rulefix_report_scan saves findings (rule, file, line, severity) and a short code excerpt per finding, encrypted per organisation.
AI fixes are optional
Your code goes to a model provider only when AI fixes are enabled. Otherwise you get the rule's reference fix.
Your agent chooses
A remote server can't read your disk. The agent sends only the files it picks, and edits stay under its permission settings.
Keys you control
Keys are stored as hashes and can be revoked in the dashboard at any time. Requests are rate-limited per key.
No code in logs
File contents, snippets and API keys are never written to server logs.

Questions about MCP.
What is MCP?+
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI applications call external tools. Any MCP client that supports remote HTTP servers can use RuleFix.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. The server is remote, at https://rulefix.in/mcp, using Streamable HTTP. You add the URL and a RuleFix API key to your client's MCP config. Nothing runs on your machine.
Does RuleFix store my code?+
Not when your agent only checks code. File contents are processed in memory to produce findings. When the agent reports a scan, RuleFix stores the findings and a short code excerpt per finding, encrypted with a key specific to your organisation. Full files are not stored.
Are AI-generated fixes required?+
No. rulefix_suggest_fix returns an AI-generated rewrite only when AI fixes are enabled. Otherwise it returns the rule's reference fix, and your code isn't sent to a model provider.
How does an issue get marked fixed?+
Your agent submits the edited file with rulefix_resolve_issue. RuleFix re-scans it and closes the issue only if the finding is gone. An agent can't mark an issue fixed by saying so.
Can RuleFix change my code?+
No. RuleFix returns findings and fixes. Your agent applies them under its own permission settings, so you approve edits the same way you approve any other change.
What are the limits?+
Up to 200 files per call, 512 KB per file, and 60 requests per minute per API key.
How do I share the setup with my team?+
In Claude Code, add --scope project to write the server to .mcp.json. Reference the key as ${RULEFIX_API_KEY} instead of committing it, and give each developer their own key.
